gunshot fired into a navy sky
the stars, they fall as i run by
up above a rocket sighs
never have i been so high

up above there off the ground
pinpricks of light dance all around
there comes a reverberation of sound
mars beneath me, crashing down

bump in the concrete, now i trip
falling into that universal blip
between sinking stars and rainbow chips
tastes like candy on my lips

back at home my head explodes
stopped in orbit, satellites implode
fire burns to break my flow
i've got to leave because i know

that if i don't go

that vast expanse of navy sky
devoid of stars as i run by
won't by witnessed by my longing eyes
and i will never feel so high

[it's time for me to say goodbye]

i run, i run
into the sky
and i can hear the music in my head.
like a pulse.
